Sweet Traders was recommended to me by my day of coordinator and I could not be happier that I went in for a cake tasting. The cake was so light, fluffy, and delicious. I would recommend the almond cake with chocolate ganache filling, the white chocolate cake with raspberry cream filling, or white cake with bavarian cream and fresh fruit filling. But honestly, you can't go wrong with any flavor combo. So many guests commented on the delicious cake--even a picky friend who went to culinary school. The cake design was also beautiful and just as I had wanted. Each layer was much higher than any other wedding cake I have seen, creating a unique look. Thank you Rachael for making our wedding cake a memorable experience for us and all of our guests!!

If you're thinking about obtaining your cake from Sweet Traders, please do it!! Rachael is an amazing baker and artist. Our cake WAS perfect in all aspects. The exterior was exactly how we pictured it and the cake itself was MOIST, rich, and so flavorful. I have had some pretty dry cake in my day, but not OUR wedding cake!! Rachael was such a joy to work with; so attentive and responsive. I would highly recommend everyone and anyone to have a cake made by Rachael at Sweet Traders.

My then-fiance and I are really not into cakes. so when we discussed the "wedding cake" issue, we simply didn't want to have one. we were planning on an ice cream cake because why not, it's our wedding! however, with a lot of nagging from both my mother and his mother, we reluctantly caved in and decided on having a foam cake with the bottom layer being real so we can cut into it and serve it to the more traditional tables that would expect a cake! even though it was only a cake for show, i didn't want to skim on the quality of the bottom layer. after many hours of researching, calling various highly recommended bakeries, I stumbled on sweet traders on wedding wire and I'm glad I did. Our first meeting was at her bakery. Rachael was running a tad late and she marked our appointment for next week though I can assure you, it was supposed to be the date I drove all the way from San Diego up to meet with her. I honestly didn't mind that she was a lil' late or was a bit unprepared because it happens to everyone. Rachael though was a lot of fun. she listened to our vision without judging (trust me, there were bakers on the phone w "a FOAM cake? who'd want that?" comment). she gave a sketch of what it would look like. then came the exciting part: cake tasting! I don't eat cake, period. but her samples were so moist, fluffy, sweet but without that in-your-face sugar rush. I actually had doubts about the ice cream cake idea and thought about having an actual wedding cake! Rachael was upfront about costs (it was VERY reasonable) and delivery time. She gave me updates throughout the process to let me know if she had found a certain decorative details i was asking for. on our wedding day, the cake was beautiful!!! it was elegant, it shimmers in the light, people couldn't stop staring at it. the bottom layer when we cut into it was moist and ever so yummy just how I remembered it. the guests that received the cake instead of ice cream cake were very complimentary. they wanted her phone number which my coordinator provided. i'm a convert now, to cake. but only if it's from sweet traders.

Rachel did such a wonderful job w/ our wedding cake that I had future brides approached me about the cake, it was delicious. Definitely recommend this place.

Rachael was AMAZING. Her friendly disposition was welcoming and inviting from the get-go. She helped us decide very quickly and easily what our perfect wedding cake would be. We didn't even ask to taste some flavors that she brought out for us. We were so glad she did because we ended up picking her "specialty", which we hadn't previously thought of. We gave her a general idea for the "look" of the cake. When we saw it on the big day, it was PERFECT! And it tasted AMAZING...just as it did on our tasting day. Dealing with Rachael was easy..NO stress. It was the one thing I didn't have to worry about while planning the wedding day. Perfect and highly recommended!

I am an avid baker and I was not willing to settle for the typical dry wedding cake with the cheap tasting frosting, which so many couples seem to have at weddings. The cake that was made for us was unique and the taste was everything that a decadent cake should be. We had several options, all of which were extraordinary, and chose a 3 tierd square cake with 3 different fillings and 3 different cakes, and frostings. I did not have a design in mind, and went in with focusing on taste. The owner was so patient and helpful, she immediately listened to our thoughts and came up with a simple and elegant design. She was so accomodating and her prices were better than any other bakery we shopped. I would definitely go back to order a cake for another special occasion!

Rachael from Sweet Traders did an excellent job with our wedding cake for our July 2011 wedding. It was delivered to our venue all the way in San Diego without a problem. The cake looked amazing and the guests all came up to us after and talked about how great it tasted and wanted to know who the cake vendor was. Rachael is honest and enthusiastic. It was a pleasure to work with Rachael. Our wedding cake flavors were marble and almond (both of which were AMAZING). The chocolate-nut ganash is also amazing. We lucked out having Sweet Traders as a vendor! Our wedding cake was the highlight of our wedding. All it took was one well-spent hour in a cake tasting with Rachael, and we didn't have to spend any more time worrying about or planning the cake. The variety of flavors for cake and filling is amazing, our favorites were banana pecan and coconut. Sweet Traders designed a four layer cake for us and decorated it with butterflies, flowers and ribbon to match our colors. We received so many compliments. In addition to supplying our cake Rachael also had professional connections with other vendors that were a huge help to us. We love Sweet Traders!!!

This was the favorite part of my wedding! My cake went above and way beyond my expectations! The cake came out even more beautiful than the picture I gave Rachael Louw (owner). The cake even tasted better than what we tasted in the tasting a few months prior. I ordered the red velvet with cream cheese filling. Rachael is extremely great to work with. She is honest, hard working and wonderfully priced. Sweet Traders is a small family owned business and I enjoy nothing more than to support small businesses. Do yourself a favor and forget all other bakeries and book with Sweet Traders! You wont regret it!

Rachael was a pleasure to work with, her cakes speak for themselves seeing her work is one thing there beautiful, but tasting it just blows your mind away. If you cant decide, trust me i was the same way set up your cake tasting and Sweet traders will definitely exceed your expectations as far as taste and Design.There strawberry cake and butter cream ROCKS!!! NO hidden surprises there cakes are AMAZING all around most importantly all of our guest loved it even had seconds!! 110% Satisfied

The cake tasted wonderful. It looked amazing. The service was the best. The price was great. We can't say enough about Sweet Traders. We would HIGHLY recommend Sweet Trader for cakes. : ) The coconut passion fruit is a must have, if you like fruity cakes.

Wonderful service! The cake was delivered and decorated perfectly as promised, and Sweet Traders exceeded our expectations. The cake was beautiful! It was everything that we had envisioned, and it was delicious as well! We received many compliments from our guests on the cake. Thank you, Sweet Traders, for being part of our beautiful day!

In terms of cost this was one of the least expensive places we could find. Working on a small budget it was important to us to get good quality for a small price. We were surprised to find that Sweet Traders would make the white chocolate shells for us at virtually no cost most places were charging about a dollar per shell or more. The cake turned out amazing and it also tasted great. I now know a great place to get a cake for any occasion.

After meeting with Rachel at Sweet Traders and receiving a quote on the cake for our daughters Quinceanera, we were very pleased. The cake was affordable, not to mention, delicious compared to all the other cakes we tried from other bakeries. And last but not least....beautiful. Thank you Sweet Traders!!!! I will be buying all my birthday cakes from here and referring all my friends and family there.

Words can't express how wonderful our experience was with Sweet Traders and more specifically Rachael. I had very specific cake that I wanted to recreate and as we shopped around for vendors they all were ridiculously priced and none of them seemed handle my inquiries with as much care and professionalism as Sweet Traders. From day one Rachael was professional, friendly, and prompt. She made sure that everything was perfect from beginning to end and was even sweet enough to allow my grandmother to make payment installments. From the tasting to the coordination, to the final details of the cake, to the flavors, everything was beyond impressive. Anytime I had a question or a concern, Rachael responded right away and was always very friendly. The cake itself was beautiful, well made with quality ingredients, and delicious!!! It was a big hit at our wedding and Rachael went above and beyond to make sure that the cake looked perfect. It was so wonderful working with Sweet Traders. I recommend them to anyone who wants a quality beautiful cake with service that matches the beauty of their cakes.
