Cake was not only beautiful but absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the paradise hawaiian cake and the chocolate dobash. It was a big hit with our guests, they loved the flavors! Leading up to the wedding, the customer service was great as well. Our cake tasting and meeting with the cake specialist at King's Hawaiian was a lot of fun, and we really enjoyed the whole process. Also, cakes were very reasonably priced and a great value too.

I love sweets and desserts but I actually wasn't extremely particular about our wedding cake. I just wanted a simple design, descent flavor, and nothing too rich or heavy. We tried a few bakeries with a lower-end budget in mind, but had a few pretty disappointing tasting experiences. Just when we were giving up hope of finding a wedding cake that wasn't completely lost in oily frosting and cake that wasn't dry and flavorless I remembered King's Hawaiian. I have had other cakes from King's Hawaiian before, I absolutely adore their bread, and we were going to Hawaii for our honeymoon so it seemed perfect. At the wedding cake tasting we picked four flavors to try and finally settled on the vanilla chiffon cake with strawberries and strawberry preserve. The estimate for the number of people the cake will feed turned out to be a large underestimate since with a 3 tier cake that supposedly feeds 160, our venue kitchen staff was able to save the entire top tier AND still serve plenty of cake to over 150 guests. The design and quality of the cake turned out to be a bit "heavy handed" and wasn't as delicate or detailed as I would have liked (even with a relatively simple vision), but it was within our budget and from a reliable and consistent bakery. Our wedding cake wasn't particularly memorable or unique but we didn't have particularly high expectations and it was a great choice for a decent wedding cake that didn't cost a fortune.

When I saw that Kings Hawaiian baked wedding cakes, this became a no brainer choice for me. If you want a delicious and moist cake with simple decorations at a price that can't be beat, this is the vendor for you. The cake looked so lovely with white gum paste flowers with red centers cascading down the sides, and the paradise flavor not only looked beautiful, it tasted delicious. And seriously, if you are on a tight budget, ask about their pricing because you will be very happy!

Hard to get a hold of the cake designer and she only has random hours during the middle of the day on the week day. Made an appointment and had to come back because the person helping me didn't know if they could do the design or how much it would cost.In the end, the cake was a good value, looked wonderful and tasted great!

We ordered the Paradise Cake, and it wad DELICIOUS!! =D The prices are super reasonable. We paid less than $500 and got a 4 tiered cake. The bakery stated that it was good for close to 200 people, but we had about 300 guests and we had A LOT of leftover cake! The guests loved it!! The cake was beautiful, inside and out. We brought a pictures from a magazine and the decorators did an excellent job with our cake. They decorated it the exact way we wanted it! And, because it wasn't too fancy, it didn't cost extra!! Thanks, King's!! You guys are awesome!! =D

I would definitely recommend a King's Hawaiian wedding cake!! The cake was so delicious and the price was VERY affordable compared to several other cake vendors I was looking at! We got a 3-tiered square cake and added a couple of real orchids on each tier.. it was so beautiful! We picked 3 flavors: Chocolate Dobash, Paradise Cake and Guava Cake -- one for each tier. Their Paradise cake is the most popular, but the Guava was my favorite. We received several compliments on the cake -- everyone loved it!

Our venue (Redondo Beach Historic Library) included a cake from King's Hawaiian. The cake was good (we picked Hawaiian Paradise and Chocolate Dobash), it looked very similar to the pictures I had provided to them. We had a good experience with King's Hawaiian. The nice part about using a bakery that's open to the public is that we can go buy a cake there every year on our anniversary to celebrate :)

Wedding cake was delicious - everyone agreed that it was by far the best wedding cake they had ever had. Now the decoration of the cake, well, it didn't look exactly like the photo - but it was close enough - that is the only negative that I have for the cake. I was sad that we didn't get to take the topper home (since we don't live in LA). GREAT VALUE - I got a three tier delicious cake that would feed almost 200 people for 250. Now if you want something like you would get on Ace of Cakes, this isn't the place where they do that (I think they would try, but I don't think that's what they are known for). But if you want a delicious cake for a great value, this is the place. Everything was delivered in time and looked awesome.

I'll keep this review short and sweet: we ordered 20% more cake than our actual guest count and there was not a single slice of cake left by the end of the evening. 'Nuff said...

My family lives down the street from King's Hawaiian and when I was selecting my wedding cake, they were one of my top picks. After looking at other bakeries, King's Hawaiian became my obvious first choice for their wonderfully moist and delicious, yet beautiful and reasonably priced cakes ($3-4/slice compared to $7+/slice at other bakeries). We ultimately selected their Paradise Chiffon cake which is comprised of 3 layers: guava, passion fruit, and lime, which look so lovely when you cut into the cake because each layer is a different color! I would happily recommend them to any other bride.

I designed my own wedding cake and turn the illustration over to Kings Hawaiian. They made my cake beautifully just as I designed it. On top of that, the cake was delicious! Our wedding colors were pink and gold so I picked the Guava and Passionfruit flavors and alternated the colors within each layer. The cake was sooo yummy! we kept getting more and more compliments on it. The cake is not too sweet and it was very light with real strawberry fillings in the middle. Yummy and beautiful. Prices was affordable too!

We have had King's Hawaiian cakes for several birthdays and when it came time to choose a wedding cake I knew I wanted the Paradise cake which consists of 3 layers: guava, passion fruit, and lime. These 3 are colored pink, green and orange and look like you're cutting into a pretty rainbow. It was delicious and light. I chose a cherry blossom design but instead of pink/reddish flowers I had it made in shades of purple to flow along the 3 tiers. It was a beautiful and delicious cake at a great value. Everyone loved it!

Wow - beyond expectations! Everyone was surprised that our delectable 3 tier wedding cake was decorated using whipped cream...and that the cake was moist. The simplicity of design on our cake was incredibly timeless and elegant. In the end, every mouthful was enjoyed without the need to scrape off the outside layer first. Each layer of our cake was different but the Red Velvet cake layer was demolished in less time than you can say "Yummy". For our anniversaries, we will definitely order a small Red Velvet cake from King's Hawaiian. Come to think of it, for all special occasions, I'm ordering cake from King's Hawaiian.

There is no doubt that King's Hawaiian Cakes are amazing and delicious. I am glad we chose them for our wedding cake as they are the best tasting and everyone at my wedding actually ATE the cake at the end! After much research, I found that King's Hawaiian was the most affordable as well. It's a good value. However, the delivery fee from Torrance to our wedding venue in Malibu was over $100! If you're venue is far from Torrance, beware of the delivery cost. After paying the initial 50% deposit the day of our cake tasting, we were told that we could pay the balance before the wedding. Since we lived so far from Torrance, we tried calling before the wedding to give them our credit card to pay the balance. They said they needed to email us a credit card authorization form which we fill out and send back. Okay, great. Waited, never got it. We called 3 different times on seperate days and each time someone told us they would send this form to us and we never received it. A few days before the wedding, we were scared they wouldn't make the cake or deliver since there was no payment made (even though we were trying our hardest to pay them!). I finally had to ask for a manager and complain about the issue. In the end, the manager just charged our card and never even sent the form. Okaaay. After all that, no form needed. All in all, they gave us a scare before the wedding that we would be cakeless. It all worked out and the cake was delivered on time and looked great. But that kind of worry or stress is unnecessary prior to your wedding. My advice is, if you can, go to the restuarant and pay in person. Only way to avoid dealing with clueless employees over the phone.

I set up a date, via phone, to do a cake tasting. The flavors were amazing. The flavors were what set everything over the top for me. I loved the spongey consistency of the cake, the whipped icing, and the decoration possibilities. The payment for cake was easy. I used my debit card. I didn't ask for any of the tiers of the cake to be placed on risers so there were no additional charges there. The service was great. The person who helped us really had some good suggestions and voiced their concerns in an appropriate manner. The pricing was awesome and delivery was on time. They were a little early in fact. PERFECT!!

I booked King's Hawaiian based on a referral from a girlfriend who used them for her wedding. I met with one of their cake representatives and we got to try about 4 cakes that we were interested in. In the end we went with a 4 tier cake with alternating tiers of paradise cake and a lilikoi crunch cake. While looking through their samples of cake decoration we came across one with cherry blossoms and it went perfectly with our theme. The cost was so worth it, our cake came out to $500 with delivery to our venue included. We also ended up having rehearsal dinner there since it was close to the church and it was delicious and everyone had a great time. While there we met again with the bakery to show them our cake topper to make sure it could hold the weight of it and the staff in their bakery was wonderful. They called the cake decorator and explained the situation to her and they were so accommodating. On the day of the wedding, our cake was amazing and it far exceeded our expectations. We had so many compliments on the cake. Definitely use King's Hawaiian they can make whatever you want without breaking the bank!

My friend had used them for their wedding and so I decided to try it out myself. The cake was awesome and delicious. It was worth every penny. The only down side was the service. When we went in for our cake tasting, it was not what I expected. The staff had to ask us a few times if we've been helped, and when finally someone realized what we were waiting for, she came out with four huge pieces of cake, two cups of water, and a binder of pictures. She gives a quick explanation of the cakes and takes off. We had to track her down when we were done and then finally taking our order. They are good about taking custom orders. I'm assuming if we had to make an appointment, that someone would be there to explain more of what they had to offer as wedding cakes.
